In most cases, the iron ore is mined open method. Its essence lies in the fact that the deposit is delivered to all the necessary equipment and build careers. On average, a quarry is about 500 meters deep and its diameter depends on the characteristics of the deposit. Then, using special equipment iron ore is mined, put on the device for transporting very heavy loads the machine and take out. As a rule, from the quarry minerals are transported directly to the companies involved in their recycling. A disadvantage of the open method is that it allows to extract iron ore only in a relatively small depth. Because often it is much deeper - at a distance of 600-900 m from the surface of the earth - you have to build mines. First, make the shaft, which is reminiscent of a very deep well to securely fortified walls. From the trunk in different directions depart corridors, called drifts. found in iron ore are blown, then its pieces using special equipment is raised to the surface. This method is effective in iron ore, but at the same time is associated with serious hazards and costs. There is another way to extract iron ore. He called the SRS or hydraulic borehole. The ore extracted from under the ground as follows: deep well is drilled, the pipe is lowered to a jetting machine and using a very strong jet of water crushed rock, and then raise it to the surface. This method is safe, but, unfortunately, it is not effective. Through this method fails to produce only about 3% iron ore, while pits produced using approximately 70%. However, the development of methods of hydraulic borehole engaged professionals, and therefore it is hoped that in the future this option will be a major, displacing quarries and mines.
