# How to find power module

The strength is a vector quantity. If the force vector arbitrarily located in the coordinate system, it can be divided into two or three components. Knowing them, find the power module can be guided by the Pythagorean theorem.

## Instruction how to find the power module

Step 1:

Compute power module is not always rational. If the load cell has a construction capable of diagonally, measure this value directly.

Step 2:

If the dynamometer allows connection to an object only at right angles, or it is equipped with two sensors that measure all components of the force to the coordinates at the same time, record the readings on all coordinates. If the device is designed in such a way that measures the strength in different coordinates in different units (such meters are rare), turn all the measurement results in the same unit. Some multi-axis load cells indicate no power, and the voltage at the output of the sensor. Then it is necessary to multiply their calibration factors listed in the table or the pre-defined for each of the sensors experimentally.

Step 3:

Finding that two or three components of the force has a non-zero value is only one, no, do not perform the calculations. Simply take out the result of the corresponding measurement unit.

Step 4:

In case, if a non-zero value are just two or three components of the force, Lift each of them in the square. Pay attention to the fact that positive results are obtained after this operation, even if the original data was negative.

Step 5:

The results of the construction components of the forces in the square fold together and then remove from the resulting sum of the square root. This will force the module. It will be expressed in the same units as the original data, for example, in Newton (N) or kilograms of force (kgf).

Step 6:

The resulting power module can be used as an initial parameter for calculating other related physical quantities. For example, to calculate the pressure, divide it by the area to which the force is applied. If we divide the power module on the body weight, will accelerate.
